Friday--
MRI, not until 2 pm.
Waited forever for results.
Didn't want to extubate her
Saturday--
Extubated that morning
Still couldn't eat anything
Finally that night told she could have some jello
Moved to private room in PICU
Sunday---
CT and ventricles enlarged again
Removed central line
Moved to NTU (Neuroscience Trauma Unit)
We pleaded enough to get her some food
Monday---
Swallow study
Worked with speech on eating. Decided she needed her liquids nectar thick. Foods were fine.
Tuesday--- EVD out.
Therapy people showed us the gym
Wednesday-- Results day.
Pathology showed Atypical Choroid Plexus Papilloma
CT showed enlarged ventricles but nothing urgent needed to be done. We will wait a few weeks to see if the fluid and ventricles will do what is necessary.
Started Gym (Physical Therapy)-- Keni really enjoyed it. She played with Mr. and Mrs. Potato head first and then played bowling. The bowling was legit. :] The pins were enormous!
Thursday-- Wait-around-day
Doctor said we could possibly go home but we decided to just chill and go on Friday morning. Scheduling to get Brock would be much easier on Friday, plus if we did go home on this day we would have been pulling in around 11 pm.
Talked with Oncology- Confirmed no chemo or radiation for now. Follow-up as needed or if we have questions.
Went to physical therapy again. Keni really loved it and doesn't ever want to leave. She did super well with walking but definitely still needs therapy.
My parents brought Brock back- the reunion between Keni and Brock seriously the most presh thing ever!
Friday-- Discharge day!
Played all morning in the new Ronald McDonald Playroom
Met with several doctors one last time (they didn't say anything new)
Discharged around 11
Ate at Panda Express- Keni's choice of course
Headed for home around 1:00 pm. The drive home was LONG! Two crying kids for half of the way. Keni wasn't used to sitting up, let alone for 3 hours so she was miserable. Brock-- well he was passed around for ten plus days so you can't blame him either.
Saturday-- Heavenly-- Only because we all slept in our very own beds the night before! Woot. Woot.
