It's the County Fair

We were super bummed when plans didn't work out to go to Preston for Rodeo. Since being married we have never missed. BUT, luckily, Vernal has a fair the same time.  I will have to say—it was so much fun. Seriously, I don’t even feel bad for missing rodeo. All of the activities are geared towards families and are mostly free. We participated in the Candy Drop, The Little Red Barn, and the Demolition Derby. 

I didn't get any pictures at the Candy Drop because it was too chaotic but the fire department brings a truck and raises the ladder as high as it will go. A few of the firefighters stand up there and toss a bunch of candy. Most of the time Keni just put her hands over her head for cover but she did end up with a little bit of candy. 

OMG! The Little Red Barn is the cutest thing. You walk in and someone hands you an apron and basket. Then you walk through all of these 'stations' to do things. First you pick an apple from the tree. Then you plant a seed in a garden, walk around to the other side and harvest/pick the produce you just planted. The next station you bagged corn. Then you drove a tracker (big trike with a trailer) and bailed hay. They had animals next that you could look at. Keni was mostly interested in the pig and Brock loved the ducks. Then you fed a cow corn and milked the cow. It was so stinking cute! Then you went to the market and put all of the things you collected along the way out for people to buy. (Smart idea to sort all the different things to put back away.) Really, really well done. The kids had a blast.

Keni wasn't so sure about the demolition derby. We had talked about it a few days before trying to get her excited for it. She was. The problem was that she just didn't get why she couldn't drive. To her benefit-- we did just get back from Lagoon the week before where she went on the bumper cars a lot. After the derby started I looked over and her little face was so funny. You could tell she was just horrified about what was going on and the fact that she thought she wanted to drive. haha. By the end of the night I think we converted her to a true redneck. :) Aka- She had fun. Brock had a good time too. He was sick of it by the end but the noise didn't bother him. He was always interested in the big monster trucks between heats.
