Keni did the triathlon again. She didn't even need anyone to ride with her on the bike portion. She said, "I'll just follow everyone else. And I know where to go anyways." She did great! Her shoelace got stuck around her chain on the biking part but luckily so nice dad stopped to help her. And she didn't seem phased by it when she came in to run.
We asked Brock if he wanted to do it several times beforehand and he was really touch-and-go. Sometimes he was excited and sometimes he didn't want to do it. So the night before he decided he didn't want to. Well, of course, he changed his mind when he saw all the kids starting. So he ran with Keni-- in his flip flops! Haha. We obviously weren't prepared for him to do anything. As he and Keni came through the finish line the lady gave him a medal. He seemed pleased with himself until they were giving away prizes. All competitors get something and he thought he should too. He started crying and the nice prize lady gave him a movie ticket! Score!
Joe's cousin, Shawn and his family, came out to participate in the race too! Which always makes it more fun. All three of his kids did the little kids tri and then Shawn competed in the sprint the next day with Joe.
Joe did well. He hadn't swam since January so he knew that portion would be a little more difficult. And he said he really struggled. He even had to do the side stroke and back stroke. Haha. He still got second place which is pretty impressive from the sounds of how his swim went.
After the race we went to the dinosaur museum with the cousin's. We are so glad they came and stayed with us. It has to be a tradition now since it's happened twice already.
